Mundi Ventures, the best insurtech investor in the world

February 15, 2023

Mundi Ventures has been named, along with US VC G Squared, as the best insurtech investor for 2023 according to insurtechdigital.com.

Over the past decade, insurtech has grown - and continues to grow - at breakneck pace. Market demand, new technologies and mega-investments have led the industry to a new leadership position in the insurance space. Digital insurance providers, ecosystem partners, underwriting, AI and API offerings, as well as IoT and 5G, are driving the transformation of insurance as we know it.

Founded in 2015 by CEO Javier Santiso, Mundi Ventures is a global venture capital firm managing more than €500M in several funds. The Insurtech vertical is our largest fund and main investment focus. The fund's investment strategy is centered on Europe and North America, but also explores other emerging regions, in particular Asia and LatinAmerica. It focuses primarily on Series A and B, but occasionally makes opportunistic investments at earlier or later stages.

We have built a unique value proposition for the Insurtech ecosystem: a professional and fully independent venture capital fund focused on the insurance industry, but backed by several international insurers and mutual funds. Our team has extensive insurance knowledge, a hands-on approach, and an impressive list of global relationships. In January 2023this team was bolstered by the arrival of Delfin Rueda, former CFO of NNGroup, also on the boards of Adyen and Allfunds.

To date, Mundi Ventures includes, for example, Wefox and Element (Berlin), Bolttech (Singapore), Betterfly and Olé Life (Miami), Descartes and Luko (Paris), Asistensi and Jobandtalent (Madrid), Clarity and Akko (New York), Acurable and Urban Jungle (London) and more as part of its extensive portfolio of insurtech startups. In total Mundi Ventures has 6 startups valued each one over 1 Bn Euros.
