IDB Invest has approved an investment of US$5 million in Mundi Ventures to bridge the protection gap in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), driving financial resilience and fostering economic growth.
IDB Invest is supporting Mundi Ventures Latin America fund, combining forces to address financial protection challenges in the region. By investing in Mundi's Latam fund, IDB Invest aims to drive technological innovation and enhance economic resilience across Latin America.
Access to financial protection in Latin America remains limited due to high costs, low awareness, and inefficient distribution. This initiative will support technology-driven solutions that create more inclusive and accessible protection products for underserved populations, including small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The investment also strengthens Mundi Ventures global presence, expanding its footprint in Latin America alongside investments in Europe, United States, and Asia. With a diverse, globally-minded team, Mundi Ventures brings a unique perspective to venture capital, ensuring adaptability across different markets.
